Plastic World - The Can Factory Fine Art

Under Cover

I Bought Me A Man Today
i bought me
a man today
he was wrapped
tightly in plastic
naked.
i will pose him in
my flower pot
in the east window
and see if he will
grow, or sprout or
bloom
if not
i'll take the pruning shears
and cut him back
and place him on the west side
and still if not
i will wander
what color thumb
it takes to
grow me a man
Plastic Characteristics
there's no character
in plastic
no integrity
no winning ways
or ecstatic ecstasies
it's just plastic
no heart beat, no heroism
just run of the mill plastic
Don't Fight
don't fight the plastic
its inevitable
silicon valley
is now every front yard
there is black spaghetti
at the church pot luck
and every evolved baby
is born with
a minimum of 26 toes
don't fight the plastic
Undercover
cover me up clearly
exposed
yet covered
hiding the nothing of
my everything
what you see is
what you get only
on the surface
so I powerfully
hide behind the
clarity
of my flesh and bones
The Struggle
he struggled not to live
but to die
through the crinkle
of plastic
he reached
bursting through the film
the fresher unfresh air
caught his new born hand
radiant for a moment in the sun
then the sizzling sound of bacon
the hand began to swell
pulsated then melted like wax
around the gnarled hand
that nubbed itself to the bone
he was too pained to scream
his every day torment
didn't add up to this
one moment of glee
that kissed death deeply on her lips
